Review
There’s something magical about a spring and this one was no exception. Came to see Falling Water but we decided to extend our stay because the place was so charming. Our host made that easy to do. The cottage house was clean and cozy and the deck view was amazing as we watched the sycamore leaves turn from green to gold. I had an excellent dinner at the historic Summit Inn just down the road where I returned for the best massage ever. Best birthday ever!
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide such a kind review! The Springs House is as charming as they come. We are glad you made use of the deck area to take in the changing leaves - truly a beautiful time of year. The Summit Inn is one of our favorite spots for dinner and spa services, sounds like a birthday well spent! We'd love to have you back for the next one!We felt 4-tunate 4 having 4 glorious weather days and nights in this real log cabin. The wooded area gave us such a private feel. The bedroom was huge, and the two-tiered deck was our favorite spot, eating meals there, playing cards, viewing and hearing the stream, along with watching deer frolick through the trees. I contacted the manager about an issue and she came right away and took care of it… so personable! We loved the unique shops, produce stand, winery and distillery right up the road. Even though this was a log cabin, I called it the Gingerbread House, especially with its adorable walkway and setting. This place “tasted like more!”
Owner's Response: So, glad you enjoyed your time with us. The weather was really fantastic for your stay (doesn't always work that way). The bedroom and tiered decks really are a real treat--great way to enjoy the quiet and the local wildlife. Come on back again real soon!Loved the details of cabin! The original windows in bedroom. Simple things! The decks, saw many birds, downy woodpecker right at deck! The little stream, very peaceful and tranquil! Had fire most days in cabin and 2 times outside. We went to antique malls, one just over line into West Virginia. Great places to eat. Our little home away from home! Highly recommend!☺
Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us. This truly the most adorable cabin. The deck is definitely a popular spot for guests (and birds) to enjoy. Nice to hear you were able to enjoy a fire outside too. Lots to do and see in the area while still relaxing. Hope to see you back real soon! This adorable cabin was perfect for a weekend trip with my husband. It was clean and the little kitchen was very well equipped. The deck looks out on the woods with a little stream running right over the hill. So relaxing! There is a cabin on either side, but they aren't close enough to interfere with privacy. We would most definitely return for another trip in the future. Thanks for letting us stay!
Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing our Spring House. So glad to hear you enjoy this adorable cabin. The decks at this cabin are just about as good as it gets! Come on back again real soon!Cute little cabin, walking distance from a winery, short drive to Ohiopyle. It was a beautiful stay, and we especially appreciated sitting on the back deck in the morning and evening.
Owner's Response: Yes, this is the cutest cabin and the back deck is the best to just sit and relax after a busy day being out and about. A real plus that you can walk right to the winery. Thanks for being such a great guest!Nice place to relax but not totally secluded. Great old cabin with everything modernized. Perfect if you want to be close enough to town but not in some big resort. If you are scared of staying deep in the woods this place is perfect but you will see an occasional car or two drive by 2-3 times a day. Love how the back windows look out onto a woodland ridge and the stream passing through close enough to hear the babbling water when you are outside. The wood burning stove was nice to add an authentic log cabin feel but the forced air heat makes mornings nice and cozy so you are not forced to tend the fire unless you want to. No firewood provided but there was enough natural tinder to gather to enjoy for a day or two otherwise you will need to bring your own wood. The second sister cabin looks bigger and might be cool to come back as a group with our adult kids in the larger cabin and us in the smaller cabin. Cool outdoor fire pit.
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed review. Yes, we agree this little cabin is definitely not an "off grid" option (and we think it's listed this way); but, definitely a fair feedback. So glad you enjoyed the other amenities and the wood burning stove. The back deck sure is a plus to just sit back and relax. Thanks for staying with us.The smoothness of renting this property was great! The photos are not misleading at all, the cabin is the perfect size and so close to the many attractions of the Laurel Highlands, yet gives you that unwinding and secluded feel when you seek to commune with nature.
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide a guest review of your experience with us. So glad to hear it was a smooth process and that you enjoyed the cabin. The privacy of this cabin--coupled with its close proximity to many of the local attractions does make it an ideal spot to getaway. We stay at the Springs House while attending a recent wedding at another TLVR Vacation Rental. The Springs House is rustic luxury at its best. The fireplace, wood log interior with chinking makes for quite a cozy stay. With TV and High Speed Internet our kids enjoyed the home as well! The owners are wonderful and we would absolutely stay there again!
Owner's Response: Thank you for providing your guest review! We could not agree more!We really liked this little cabin in the woods. It's got both historical charm and modern conveniences. The bedroom and decks are charming, with views (and sounds) of the creek below. The kitchen is small and the living/dining area is functional -- but there is a nice fireplace and extra futon. Good location near Rt 40 and access to Ohiopyle (15 mins away), etc. Really sweet spot for a couple, family or bigger group would want to rent the adjoining Creek house which is bigger.
