Hitting the Slopes and Other Winter Activities near Rector Meadows Bungalow

Rector Meadows Bungalow is conveniently located near many popular Laurel Highlands sites and attractions. Far enough away for some peace and quiet, but not too far away from many fun things to do, this property is perfect for couples or a small group of friends looking to get away.

Less than half an hour away from the property is Hidden Valley Resort. Opening this upcoming weekend for the winter season, Hidden Valley offers skiing and snowboarding, which are perfect for any outdoor winter enthusiast. Lessons are provided for first-time guests for both activities. It is highly advised that those wishing to take snowboarding or skiing lessons take online reservations since time slots can fill up quickly. Gear is available to rent or purchase on the property.

 

No matter the time of day you plan on being at Hidden Valley Resort, there are plenty of food options to satisfy any taste buds. (And with a view of the snow!) Clocktower, Glaciers Pub, and Sunrise Sunset Cafe offer soup, sandwiches, pizza, and so much more. 

 

In addition to Hidden Valley Resort, Seven Springs Mountain Resort is also a short distance away from Rector Meadows Bungalow. Even though there isn’t an official Opening Day yet for outdoor activities, it just means it is time to explore other resort areas! Trillium Spa, located on the Seven Springs property, offers traditional spa services including massages, manicures, and pedicures. The spa also has a sauna, steam room, and treatments. 

 

If the weather isn’t cooperating or you feel like having fun inside, Seven Springs offers activities for all age groups. Whether out on the slopes or having fun at the arcade, Seven Springs offers many different dining options for any palate. Like Hidden Valley, Seven Springs offers skiing and snowboarding to guests, as well as lessons for beginners. If you want to include the whole family, snow tubing is another excellent option at the resort. Tickets for all outdoor winter activities can be found online under each activity.
