Turning Leaf Vacation Rentals, initially grew out of a love for the Laurel Highlands area of Pennsylvania and the memories it has created for me personally and our family. Our rental company represents a love to getaway with family, friends and create memorable experiences. We passionately focus on your guest experience from the initial phone or email inquiry to the release of your refundable security deposit. You will find our communications to be timely, straightforward, always honest and focused on your desired to create memories of your own while balancing owner protections and use of the property we own or are listed with TLVR.

Our company grew out of our love for the Laurel Highlands with a single cabin. We enjoyed spending time at our cabin in Ohiopyle but were never there as much as I would like to be. As I say frequently to our clients “you can only sleep in one home at a time”. So, we began renting it out. We were surprised initially to see that lots of other people loved the area too! From that point we have added a number of other cabins to our portfolio and grew our listing company to help other folks make money with their second home. Our Chief Designer (my wife Alice) added design services for our remodels, rental refreshes and new construction. While she carved out an expertise in
rustic luxury design, we have always balanced high quality design for our properties, while sticking to budget. In recent years, we have expanded our rental listing footprint to include most of western Pennsylvania. As we have grown we have added housekeeping, remodeling, light maintenance, lawn, plow services to help owners that either want or need this type of support. Along with our contractor relationships we began to build vacation homes. In 2020, we built our first vacation rental homes from the ground up. We’re happy to add this level of expertise to clients that are looking for new construction. Â
Our focus on quality means, quality spaces for guest enjoyment. Whether it is an outdoor congregating space or a quiet retreat bedroom, we look to have our spaces be enjoyed by guests. Quality is not simply defined by a person’s budget; so, we look to create unique guest spaces at all price points. As a result, we do turn away certain rental listings as they need to align with our quality value.Â
We work to engender a work place of respect. We regard all people, contractors, vendors, owners and guests with respect. Naturally, this includes respect for our guests; but, also for owner properties. We do expect respect from others, even when things don’t go as planned. All staff regardless of their roles deserve respect.Â
We work as a team. Sales, Housekeeping, Local Maintenance and Operations Managment work together to provide guests with what has been described via our listings. We collectively work together to ensure that the owners that list with us have vacation rentals that are well maintained.
We expect for our spaces to be clean. Clean properties may be the most important thing we can do to make a memorable guest experience. This means our vacation rentals should be clean. Every time. If it’s not clean, we want to hear about it, to address the issue..Â
We focus on being responsive. This means communication that is timely. It means a commitment to answer guest questions (even if the information has already been provided). It also means being responsive to maintenance issues. We can not deploy staff immediately in all cases but we work to resolve issues, especially issues during a guest stay as quickly as possible.Â
We probably over communicate; but, what we say on our rental listings, email, and guest stay communications has been developed over years of listening to guests. We self scout our listings and if an amenity is noted to exist, we work diligently to ensure the amenity is working year round. Listening to guest questions and constructive feedback, we have modified our communications over many years to provide clear, timely communications.Â
